Gargoyle Peak - Garbaldi Provincial Park

Writer's picture: Lia GiesbrechtLia Giesbrecht

So this was very windy. We hiked up in the morning trail was clear with a couple patches of snow near the top of the ridge but micro spikes aren’t needed. I use trail runners had no problems. All trails says this is 5.4 in and out but I gps it and it was just over 6km. My friend Shannon had never been up a peak like this before so we took our time from the ridge to the peak. Awesome views weather decided to move In so we headed down. We were hiking up in sports bras and at the top it was toques puffer jackets and rain jackets lol. Hiked back to camp packed up the tent and headed down the trail. We were going to spend 2 nights but the weather and the amount of rain coming we decided not to stay.
