I have a love/hate relationship with this mountain. It’s 5km to the top and most place you read says it takes 2hrs to get there, I’ve never done it in 2 hours its a steep hike its a well maintained trail. The alpine looks like its an easy hike to the top but its about 15 percent grade and you can wander around the top forever. you can look down into Silver King basin, there’s a trail at the top of the tree line one you hit the meadow off to the left that joins up with Mccabe trail or you can go right and it will hook up with Lyons Creek trail. Part way up there’s orange flagging with a trail that goes straight into the bush. this just goes to harvey creek and a little ways past it. Also there is remains of an old cabin on this corner. Harvey Mnt is located in the Babine provincial park and is the second trail head in the park.

Take hwy 16 east of Smithers just over the Bulkley river bridge and turn left on Old Babine Lake Rd. Turn left at the junction with the Telkwa High Road. Turn right at Driftwood Road and continue 10 km to the parking area (6k past Driftwood Canyon Park keeping right at Park Rd). There is a small parking spot here after crossing 2 bridges, and the trail sign is on your right.
