Hoodoo Trail

Writer's picture: Lia GiesbrechtLia Giesbrecht

So Sonya and I needed to get out of the city and after a 4hr drive we arrived at Abraham Lake past Nordegg Alberta. Hoodoo Creek isn’t a very long hike it can be 3km to 7km round trip depending on how far up the creek bed you go. The trailhead is marked on the side of the highway with a Cairn and you just follow the trail on the right side of the creek. Once you get to the hoodoo you can criss cross the creek bed to get higher to find the cave you can scramble too and explore. There is only 1 hoodoo left standing and the cave we couldn’t find lol. every blog we read said it was easy to find but everyone we saw on the trail couldn’t find it either. The views are beautiful. Hike is moderate. We saw a 5 year old hiking it and he was doing awesome.
