So I went up Little Joe Lakes trail yesterday and i haven’t been up that way in years. Its an easy grade, there is however a s steep shale section where you can go through Eagles pass( This pass is about 2 km long and goes the opposite direction from the lakes and joins up with Higgins creek Trail) or continue up to the lakes. There’s still snow on sections of the trail at the top of this section and massive amounts of snow one you hit alpine. You can however walk across most of it but I fell through a few times. It’s 8.6 to the summit where the trail joins Mccabe trail and Lyons creek trail. It’s about 5 km to the lakes. The trail doesn’t actually go to the lakes it goes around it. There was still Ice on the lakes. but we sat and had lunch on a little rock bluff over looking the lake and didn’t stay long as it was too cold, very windy and the weather was moving in fast, it started snowing pretty good on us on the way down.

Directions from Smithers drive towards Telkwa and turn Left on to Babine lake road, cont till you crossover little joe creek at 31 1/2 km just after this on the left is a sign for the trail short little drive to the trail-head. allow yourself 2-3 hours to get to the lakes and 1/2 less to get down.
